LWVAL's 2017 Transparency in Government Award
At the convention LWVAL will award the "Transparency in Government Award" honoring political leaders who have championed open and inclusive government in Alabama. This be will be awarded at the Transparency Award Celebration and Reception on Saturday evening, April 29. Guest Speaker will be Kyle Whitmire, State Political Commentator, Alabama Media Group.
Two educational sessions will be offered on Saturday afternoon, April 29. "Program and Advocacy Linkages" will be lead by Hattie Kaufman and Anne Permaloff, LWVAL Advocacy Committee. Then David Stout, Special Projects Organizer, Arise Citizens’ Policy Project will speak on "Local League Advocacy Preparation and Action."
